Middle of the Night Laugh...

Let me preface this story with a little info... we do what we call "thank you bites" in our house. Hannah has to take at least one bite of everything on her plate & then decides if she likes it or if not, she says "No thank you!"
Hannah also has a cold accompanied with a NASTY cough. And a final note, I find things exceptionally funny in the middle of the night.

Last night Hannah was up having a bit of a coughing fit, so I got her some medicine & a glass of water. She drank the medicine, handed me the empty cup saying...
"No Thank You!"
I looked at the cup, saw that it was empty & giggled.
"Is it yucky?"
"Yes! My dad calls it grape."
"Yep, it is grape."
"No, grapes taste good. That is gross. Grapes are yummy!"

I began to laugh, she joined me, but then continued on about the yucky medicine not being like grapes.

Motherhood

Motherhood is amazing!! I love my job more than 99% of the time. I love spending each & every day with my kids... watching them grow & learn, it is the most amazing thing! Each day is filled with countless moments of laughter, love & happiness. I often times feel consumed by the feeling of gratitude & love for my kids. There is nothing else in the world I would rather be doing.

There is that less than 1% that I feel frazzled, & the last 2 days have had numerous moments during the day that fall into this small percentage! But I've lived through them & those moments help me appreciate the wonderful time even more. It's in the frustrated wake of those times that I stare out the nasty fingerprint-coated doors in my house & remember just how much I love the hands that created the mess.

Halloween!!

The day started off with pumpkin pancakes shaped like pumpkins & ghosts.

We went & did a little Halloween Parade at a local retirement center. The kids were little shy & quiet, but the residents seemed to enjoy seeing the kids.

Here is Hook (Ty), Tinkerbell (Hannah) & Peter Pan (Brans)

Cason was the ferocious crocodile that ate Hook's hand.

Here is Hannah with her friends, Dillon & Elli, she plays with most afternoons.

Here is the brie jack-o-lantern wheel we munched on until dinner time....
complete with crackers, apples & spiders.

Our mummy dogs. (Some of them look like they are in sleeping bags & one looks
like a burn victim... hehe.)

I've seen these meringue bones a number of times & finally gave them a try...
I would do them again for sure!

Ready to head out trick-or-treating!

Mary & Jon joined us for the evening with their dog Sammy
(I can't believe I failed to get a picture of the BEST DOG!)

We had a great Halloween!!

Checking out her loot!!

Pumpkins

Remember one of the previous posts about our 99 cent pumpkins?
Well we did carve up 2 of them the night before Halloween.

Sugar Cookies!

October 30, 2008
I love this picture of Milo being tricky!

Last night Hannah & I made sugar cookie dough & then today we rolled & cut out the cookies. The last chunk of dough I let her play with & do what she wanted.... some of eat was quickly consumed & the rest was used to cut up as she wanted & baked. I didn't take any pictures of the fun Halloween cookies, because they were so boring & typical pumpkin & cat shaped. Hannah's artist ones were the best!

Disneyland Day 3

Are you tired of my Disney Pictures yet?? Sorry!

Disneyland Day 2

I wanted to write down a couple things Hannah said that I wanted to remember...

She woke up at 4:30 this morning & came to whisper something to me.
"Mom, I don't want to go home tomorrow."
"We aren't, we are staying for 3 more days!"
She was so happy!!
This is in front of the Snow White fountain, where you can hear the Snow White statue singing.

Later in the day we were taking a bathroom break, she looked up & said:

"Mom, let's live at Disneyland! We can have Dylan & Eli (the neighbor boys) mail us Zoey!"
(Zoey is her stuffed animal dog, that she treats like a REAL dog!)
