Never Safe...

This poor girl is never safe!
If she isn't being smothered by Milo (sometimes Hannah) with kisses..
although I'm not sure I can blame them.
Sometimes it's Milo smothering her with his body.
Sometimes it's Milo bouncing her like a maniac in the bouncer.
Today it was being attacked by her sister with a giant sticker.
I'm sure it was all in good fun, but I had a hard time convincing Viv as she screamed while I removed the ultra sticky sticker.

To My Utah Peeps...

Well I guess to my SLC area peeps...

I know there are a lot of people taking up photography, but if you don't happen to know anyone & you are wanting to do family pictures or just pictures of your little ones head over to my sister-in-laws site. She has started up a little photography business, Lou Lou Photography & is offering a good deal right now!

Well Child Checks

This morning Milo & Viv both had Dr. appointments. Milo's 2 year & Viv's 2 month. I scheduled their appointments together so I would have one less trip. They were both weighed, measured & given the once over by the doctor, & then the nurse came to give the terrible immunizations.

Milo weighs 26.4 lbs & is 33.5 inches. He has dropped a little on his growth curve, so he is either due for a growth spurt or didn't inherit the tall gene. I was comforted by the doctor letting me know that some of his bad habits (hitting, spitting & that scream) are very normal & hopefully with time & validation of his feelings from us & encouragement to use his words, we will so improvement.

As for Miss V, she weighed in at 11.4 lbs, 22.5 inches long (I am not convinced the nurse measured accurate, I may have to do it myself) & a 15.5 inch head. She is following just as the other Taylor Tots & is right around the 50% average.
I was curious where the other where at 2 months, so I looked... At about 2 1/2 months Hannah also 11.4 lbs & 23.5 inches & her head was 16 inches. And I can't find Milo's (terrible mother, I know!)
And because this post is about Milo & Vivien I wanted to add this picture as a reminder of all the kisses he gives her daily! It is the sweetest thing!

Happy Birthday Dekota!!

My handsome nephew Dekota turns 8 today! I can't believe he is 8, I still remember the day we were all anxiously awaiting your arrival. Dekota is a wonderful kid, whenever we are all together you can count on Dekota to help with the little ones. He is great at entertaining them & tries to help as much as possible, it's like having a little babysitter. He is one of the kindest little boys I know & my kids are lucky to have him as a cousin.

Happy Birthday Dude! We Love You!!
(I obviously don't see his family enough, because I don't have very many recent picture!)

Smiles

Vivien started smiling on a regular basis this last weekend!
I'm not sure who is loving the smiles more, me or Hannah.
I love it...
I Love It...
I LOVE IT!!!
(We went with black & white due to the sweet purple tongue!)

Guessing Game...

Can anyone guess what Viv's been eating?
Nope, not a grape popsicle...
Gentian Violet!

Two weeks ago I realized we had thrush. A couple of days after I finished mine I realized we were unsuccessful at getting rid of it with the round of drugs the Dr. gave us. I called & had my dr. give me a second round (Viv is still finishing up hers) & I decided to add some gentian violet to the mix in hopes to get rid of it for good!

Keep your fingers crossed.

PS I kind of dig the purple tongue... purple suits her!

Did you know...

Milo is obsessed with Firemen...
or as he says: "Fiiiiiire-Man!"

Super Heroes

My little Superman...
And my little Underwear Girl!
"I GOTCHA!"
"Oh No! You'll NEVER catch me!"

A Letter to Mimaw

Dear Mimaw,

Do you recognize something in this picture?
Mom gave me the underoos you sent tonight... I was so excited to see a package of fun colors, but wasn't as excited to use them. They make a better superhero hat than they do underwear, don't you think?!

Love,

Milo-Man

A Lecture...

This is what happens when I am trying to have a serious conversation with my husband.
"OKAY? I'm serious!"
"Put down the camera, & listen to me!"
"It's Fine, make a joke out of it! Whatever, I don't even care!"
Jeff thought it would be fun to catch all of my different faces... LOADS of fun, eh?

Can I add something in my defense (not about the faces, but me in general)...
this was this evening after I had gone on a walk/jog, thus the reason for the sweet ponytail & lounge wear.
Well, that's my excuse for today!

New Lens

I got a new camera lens... and I'm REALLY liking it!

A Letter to G&G Taylor

Dear Grandma & Grandpa,

Thanks so much for coming to Oklahoma to visit us, it was so great to see you! We had a good time showing you all of our tricks & our wild side. It was so fun to go on the road trip to Tennessee in the sweet minivan you rented. We were happy you were able to spend the extra time together. Thanks again for everything!

Love,

Hannah, Milo & Viv

PS Lots of pictures & posts to come from our visit from the Taylor's

The Blessing of Viv

Today we blessed Vivien & what a day it was...

This little man woke up from his nap with a fever yesterday & still had it this morning. We decided we would all go to church, but I'd take him home after Sacrament meeting. Then he decided to vomit! So we starting talking about just blessing the baby here at the house, but he turned a corner & was running around playing. So we spent the next hour watching him & since he seemed fine we went back to the original plan & headed to church. (I know what you're thinking... I am against taking a sick kid out, especially to church. But Jeff's parents were in town for the blessing & I wasn't going to miss her blessing either.)
We did make it through Sacrament without incident, except for the part where the bishop didn't know we were going to bless Vivien today... but Jeff managed to inform him thanks to a torn coloring book page & a kind sacrament passing deacon doing a little middle school note passing. (I think Jeff was willing to just shrug it off, but I brought my sick toddler to church for this... so we were blessing her today at church!)

I did have to sneak out of the meeting early due to Viv's hunger, so I thought I'd feed her a little to hold her over. We did a quick removal of her bulky blessing dress before filling her belly. By the time I got her burped & ready to put back in her car seat to head home we had a poop explosion, & imagine my luck I didn't have a diaper or wipes (they'd been removed from the car the previous day for our river cruise.) Luckily Katrina came to my rescue (she is the mother of Evelyn, who is just one day younger than Viv.) with a diaper & I also snagged 2 or 3 wipes. I grabbed a couple paper towels one my way to the changing station. The poop-backed onesie (which was the whitest one I could find) was carefully removed, this turned Vivien's fussing into crying.. But this was a bigger mess than I had realized, & 3 wipes wasn't going to do the job. I had previously noticed a few travel packs of wipes on top of the changing station but felt a little guilty using them. I knew this once clean white high quality onesie had just become disposable, because there was no way I was going to try to get it home & then have to rinse & wash. So I did my best using the uncontaminated parts of the onesie... Vivien's crying is now screaming. (note to self, she doesn't like being naked, covered in poop & wiped down with cold wet objects!) She was still a bit of a mess, I then snagged some of the previously mentioned wipes. While holding her legs up to get one more wipe of her backside she began to pee, I quickly placed her bum down so it didn't run up her back. Poor Girl! We managed to make it home, naked baby & sick toddler in tow.

After dinner I put Viv back in her dress so we could take a few pictures.
I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted a few pictures to document the occasion...
I wanted a picture of me & my girls...
Is it just me or does it seem from pictures of Hannah that I need to put more fiber in our diets?!?
Time for the boys to join in on the fun... they were less than thrilled!
Dude, I know you're not asleep the other picture was taken 2 minutes ago!
The happy family!!
Oh, here is a better one. No?
Perhaps it should read: The Happy Mom & her victims?
We let the little people go, since they seemed to have had enough torture
(who know 2 minutes could be so painful!
I would rather take Hannah just standing there over her fake & forced smiles.

The Proud Parents
Please Note, this lovely couple isn't looking at each other longingly...
they are glaring at one another.

Oh, that's better... well half better. Jeff seems a little FORCED
Finally we come to 2 people, G & G Taylor, who are more than willing to smile & have their picture taken with Vivien!
,No matter how crazy a day can be, one things for sure... that baby is DELICIOUS!!
And don't try to tell me otherwise!!
P.S. The blessing was lovely, Jeff did a beautiful job. I was feeling a little frazzled at the time at the time...
but pulled out the recorder this evening & listened to it again.

P.P.S. All jokes aside, even though today was crazy it was good to spend this time with the Taylor's & I'm grateful that my kids have them as grandparents.

Pure Joy

I am loving these pictures! I can hear Milo's contagious belly laugh when I look at him here...

The same with this one of Hannah, she has the best giggle... sometimes accompanied by a snort.
I love when they get along & play together (rather than torture one another.)
And this picture... it has both kids looking in the camera's general direction & smiling...
something I've tried capturing for years!
I love these 2 crazy little munchkins!

Per Patti's Pestering...

Okay, it may not have been pestering, but perhaps begging & pleading.
Yes, those cheeks are as delicious as they look!

P.S. Have I told you how much I love the bunting? I even love it in pictures!
