Weeks 11 & 12

It would be lovely to announce that I am feeling so fabulous & back to normal that time has slipped away from me. When it was more of the latter, and time has slipped away from me.. hehe. It took the remainder of the week to get back on track after our trip to California. But we seem to have made it!

Week 11 was pretty nice, I felt really pretty good & of course the 2nd half of the week I felt great! It was nice to be on vacation & not have to worry about laundry or cooking or cleaning. I feel like I ate my body weight in fruit, (there could be worse things to eat your body weight in...) it just really hit the spot! Having the extra people to help entertain Hannah while we were there, was an added bonus. Perhaps I was a bit too lazy & could have offered more help, but the relaxation was nice on my body & soul, so I won't allow myself to feel guilty!!

Week 12 started out good, we were spending our last few days in California. Between the long journey home & getting back to the real world, I was exhausted the rest of the week. Funny how even a relaxing vacation can wear you out, isn't it?

On Friday I had my 12 week appointment. I had an afternoon appointment & the doctor had a delivery earlier so he was a bit behind. I took Hannah with me & she was such a good girl during the really long wait! The nurse said she was very chatty & entertaining as I used the restroom, and when asked how old she was she told the nurse she was 10! She really is such a character. Okay, back to the appointment... other than the loss of 4 or 5 pounds (not a big shocker with the lack of appetite,) it was a simple, routine 12 week check. "How are you feeling? Any questions or concerns?" Then on to listen for the heartbeat. I remember with Hannah being so anxious & slightly nervous as they searched for the heartbeat. But I wasn't this time, I have felt little tiny flutters already with this pregnancy... so that helped keep me at ease. Until after searching & no luck, I did feel a slight raise in my blood pressure for a moment. But the doctor was moving it around so quick that it would be easy to miss something so small. It had been a long day for the Dr. so he quickly said he was tired for searching, so we were going to go down the hall & cheat!! YIPPEE, I'll take another ultrasound shot of my little bean anytime. Sure enough, still there, heartbeat & all! Hannah was quite fascinated by the whole event, but seemed rather clueless at the same time.

The first trimester is nearing the end & I am filled with hope & relief of the better days to come! All in all, I have felt better this pregnancy than the previous... but I still look forward to the next phase!

I have posted the u/s photo, more for my own personal journalling purposes. (As it is not a fantastic picture.)

I LOVED fruit when I was pregnant too, especially the first trimester.
