This morning my friend, Leslie, & I ran a 5K over by Lake Hefner. It was a small race, Race for Freedom, sponsored by Geico. I enjoyed the run, & tried really hard to pace myself & not get over excited with all the faster runners. The worst part was we parked where the website told us & we had a 20-30 minute walk (no joke,) it was a small enough race we could have parked closer. So by the time we got there we ran to get registered, then ran to get our chips & since we had a little over 5 minutes to start we ran back to get our shirts.
I knew I could do it in 36 minutes & I wanted to do it under 35 minutes & I was so close... There was a girl I was coming up on in the last few meters & was going to pass her without much of a problem & she decided to keep pace with me & the way they had us sort of funnel in to cross the finish line was a bugger... the girl was still just barely ahead of me & wasn't as excited to cross the finish line... so she was taking her sweet time. I was literally seconds over my goal & came in at 35:08. Leslie & I are going to try to do another 5k next month & there is a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day, which should be lots of fun. A 5k is pretty fun to run.

Megs I am so envious of your ambition. I am hoping to get started on the couch to 5k. You'll be my motivation! Good job!
I am proud of you. Thats really awesome!
You are a rockstar!!! You are so awesome - CONGRATS :)
you look FABULOUS!!! Way to go
I hate the silly funnel, but that aside, you look great!!!
Here's a race:

It's at Lake Hefner again, which might not be so appealing for the next race. This next part will all make sense when you see the site: I worked with Ryan (Ellie Kate's mom) before and during her pregnancy with Ellie Kate. It's been a tough row, but they've handled everything with such grace. I wanted to do it, but I don't think my 5k skills will be up to par by then.
I am so impressed with you Mugs. Way to go!
How fun! I love running and being in a race is always fun. Too bad for that "bugger", you should have pushed her over!
Way to go Megan...that is AWESOME!! I have been trying to run but I am so not consistent. I need to do better!
I am so proud of you. I was going strong since our talk when you were at my house. Let me say things such as running have taken a turn for the worse. Rachel is getting up 3-4 times a night. I am having a hard time getting up any earlier than I have to, and that seems to be the best time for me to get it done. I guess I will have to live vicariously through you.
P.S. I would like some pointers on how to get her to sleep better at night. I do have her on a better sleeping schedule in the day since you told me to stretch out the feedings. Thanks.
