Walking Disaster

I like to refer to Jeff as my walking disaster. The guy seems to have the strangest freak accidents & other accidents due to either his lapse of judgement or his magnetic pull to disaster.
Yesterday he called to tell me about how he was removing a staple (not sure if it was from paper, or perhaps one jammed in the stapler... we'll have to get clarification on that one.) and a staple flipped up & got him in the eye. No, not just near the eye, actually in his eyeball! I teased & asked if his reflexes didn't allow him to close his eyes? He said it hasn't done anything to his vision, let's hope that doesn't change. Perhaps I'll be buying him some safety glasses for work.

Gross, huh?

Blueberry Apology...

Mom...

Remember that Costco sized carton of those delicious raspberries from last week? I know you may have a hard time recalling them, being that you only had a few. Well I will apologize in advance for the Costco sized carton of large plump blueberries sitting in your fridge. It started with Hannah asking for fruit snacks at about 8:30 & I just couldn't agree to that snack at that hour. So she went looking for something else & found the blueberries.... and that was a snack I could agree to. I really wasn't expecting what came next.... You see, they seem to be a bigger hit than the raspberries! Both of the kids love them, & Milo keeps walking up to me with his little cup signing "Please" while saying "Peeze." I was so impressed with his new word I couldn't say no.

Let me reassure you that the blueberries aren't gone.... YET! But I do apologize for eating more than our share!

Love,

Megan & the Taylor-Tots

Hard Times....

I find myself saying things that include "...the economy..." on a daily basis, I know I'm not alone!

Times really are hard, every time I turn around I am hearing some personal account of how my friends & family are taking hits.
People are losing their jobs
Taking big pay cuts
Getting insulting raises, etc.

There are even those that are just having a hard time, not because of the economy:
Family with babies being diagnosed with diabetes
Family getting pathetic paychecks (by loser employers - who happen to be blood relatives.)
Friends with cancer
Friends being hit by drunk driver's

These lists could go on & on, but I'll save the long list for my evening prayers. The only good here is that it helps lend a little perspective to those of us who aren't suffering quite as much as some of our family, friends & neighbors. I just hope that those really feeling overwhelmed will have some form of relief soon.

The Entertainer

Hannah is such a great form of daily entertainment. I enjoy sitting & listening to her talk to herself or play a little "make believe." This afternoon she is sitting on the couch in my mom's front room looking out the open window (I'm trying to air the house out from the stinky 2 day old fish smell.) She is singing up a storm.

I hope that anyone who may pass by or be within ear shot can enjoy a smile or a giggle thanks to my little entertainer!

When the wife's away...

As some of you may know, Megan took an extended vacation, and I'm left to fend for myself here in Oklahoma. I'm wondering what some of you/your spouses do when you leave them to their own devices.

One nice thing is that I've been able to catch up on a lot of work (house and law) that's piling up. The alternate drawback is that I also have more work that I'm needing to do.

Overdue Sugar Bowl Pics

Sorry folks about not posting these sooner. I got home from the bowl game and got sick immediately. I didn't feel like posting, and I certainly didn't feel like anything else.

I don't have proof that I am alive... and to be honest, some days I don't feel alive! But I can prove to you that my children are alive AND well. Just check out the cute pictures my FABULOUS friend, Kristen, took of them yesterday!! Thank you, thank you!!

p.s. Kristen has a blog she keep of all the amazing pictures she takes... you can see it here!

FYI

I am not dead... just in a little bit of survival mode here. Lots & lots to catch up on, can't promise you any deadlines though! But I promise to get some really old pictures & updates on sometimes... they'll be posted more for my own records than for the fact that anyone really cares all that much.
