Tornado Season
Last night there was a hale storm & I heard Jeff get up to go make sure our cars were okay (they were). I remember waking up a bit later & noticing he was in the front room watching TV, but I was too delirious to think much of it.
This morning he informed me that our tornado sirens went off around 2:00 AM & the tornado was passing through the area. Me & the kids managed to sleep quite soundly through the whole thing. Jeff turned on the news & we saw that the Valendia subdivision was hit. It is about 5 miles north of us & just to the west of a number of our friends.
We drove up there to see the much talked about damage. I was bothered by the fact that I could sleep through it & I am thinking I need to get us a weather radio, to avoid a repeat of the last night.

Martin Nature Park
This morning was spent at Martin Nature Park with Kristen & her boys. She called me last night asking if we wanted to join them this morning, we could walk along the paths, letting the kids burn energy, followed by a picnic. We have never been there, so it was fine to go some place new. Kristen pointed out how it's such a great place, because you feel like you are far away from the city, when you are really right off the freeway. We will have to go back there again, becaue it was a great find!
I couldn't believe the weather this morning, it was actually humid today & got quite warm. Even though it was nice to be out enjoying warm weather, it made me realize I'm not quite ready for summer yet.
*Kristen, thanks for taking some pictures of my kids, since I failed to bring my camera.

Baby Alex Has Arrived!!

My brother, Travis & SIL, Mandi welcomed their 2nd baby into the world early this morning. Mandi gave birth to Alexander shortly after midnight, Congratulations!
(Now I just have to wait for someone to get me some pictures. Mandi is the best with digital pictures & e-mail, but sadly she's the one that had the baby, so it could be a few days.)
**3/31/08 - I finally recieved some pictures of Alex, so cute!!

It's Official
I am running the Redbud Classic 10K on April 6th.
Jeff & I were going to run the Redbud Classic 5K on April 6th. But strollers weren't allowed, so I told Jeff he could run it & I'd find another one. Well he has been having problems with his leg & has not over done it with running, so that got me thinking that I may get to run. Of course that made me think about doing the 10K rather than the 5K. My friend Leslie is doing the 10K. We had Easter dinner at Leslie's yesterday & we were talking about the race. I made a comment in passing to Jeff about me running, because there aren't that many 10K's, but there are lots of
5K's. I'm excited, because it's enough of a challenge that I won't feel like all the previous training I had done would go to waste, but is easier than a 1/2 marathon.

To Run, or Not to Run...
.(3.5x1.46).5472%5B1%5D.jpg)
I have been training for the Salt Lake 1/2 marathon on April 19th, training is going good... I'm getting in my miles, but my body & my head can't seem to get on the same page. Between my body trying to figure itself back out after having a baby, along with nursing & the added stress & strain of all the running... things aren't really figuring themselves out. I feel like my body is so confused & isn't able to do what it wants & needs. I really want to run this race, because I got the idea in my head, I've put hours into running my mileage & I just want to finish what I've started. But I've had this nagging feeling for the last week that I really need to slow down a bit.
After really thinking about what is most important here (which would be the health of my body, so that I can continue nursing Milo) I've decided to not run the race. It was a hard decision to actually agree to, I know it was the right decision. There is a 5k option in the race that I'm going to run, I with they had a 10k, but nope.
I am going to find a 1/2 marathon at the end of the summer to run, giving myself more time to slowly build up my miles. There is a 5k race that Jeff & I want to run in early April here in OKC, it has a 10k option, so I am considering that, because it's something I could do at this point.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Luckily, the plan worked! Hannah took a great nap, & the leprechauns came through for her.
They sent her on a little treasure hunt, she followed the footprints they left all over the house. She wasn't sure about the green footprints all over the floor, walls & ceiling. She quickly announced that they were in big trouble & her Daddy was going to be so mad at them!
She managed to get over it & she said they were clues, so she grabbed her magnifying glass to hunt down the treaure!
Between the great clues left by the leprechauns & Hannah's great detective skills, she was lead right to her treasure.

Craft Time
This morning we decided to have a little craft time, & today it was macaroni crafts. What kid doesn't love using some glue & some macaroni!?! Hannah is no exception, she loved the idea of playing with glue & thought the noodles were so much fun. We talked about today being St. Patrick's Day & little green leprechauns. She informed me that they were bad guys & I told that they were nice, so she wanted to know more about them & what they did. I told her that they were cousins to our little house elf, Twinkle Toes, & they were just stopping through for a visit today. This of course lead into the story of Twinkle Toes & how he is the elf that lives in our house. He watches to make sure we are good all year long & he reports back to Santa.
Hannah loved the whole idea of leprechauns & Twinkle Toes & wanted to see them. I told her should couldn't, they were very shy & scared of people. I did tell her that if she was really good & took a good nap that they might leave her a little treasure hunt. So hopefully she won't be too excited to sleep, sometimes plans have a way of not working out due to excitement.
We also pulled out the plastic easter eggs & those offered hours of entertainment today.

Oh the things we'll wear
I found these pictures on Picasa as I was posting about the soccer game. You'll pay particular attention to the last photo showing her true fashion sense (she gets it from me). I guess we'll dismiss the Olympics? Watch out Issac Mitzrahi & Calvin Klein (or insert your most cherished designer). Personally, I like the "frilly thing" hanging from underneath the shirt and above the shorts that are on backwards.
P.S. Megan has since informed me that the frilly thing is actually a dress.
