A Thankful Heart

I have opted to stay up a little late this evening (hopefully Jeff will still let me sleep in) & I am in a quiet house, 3 babes all tucked in for the night & I sit here listening to Jeff's breathing change to the familiar sound that tells me he is asleep. I am going to sit & savor the peaceful silence.

Last week we had cooler weather & it reminded me that fall is just around the corner. I love the change of seasons, spring & fall are my favorites. Spring is all about grass snapping out of the winter brown, daffodils tulips popping up, a new start. I always feel like I am ready to make goals & start fresh (not sure what from), & leaving bad habits in the past.

Fall is the time where you harvest the last of your garden & see what your efforts have provided. (This year our garden didn't do so well, we had strange weather.) I also start thinking about baking yummy treats & cooking comfort foods for the ones I love. In the fall I feel an enormous sense of gratitude for all that I have, for my family. So with fall approaching I thought about my family & how they are my garden, something I have to tend to daily & even though somethings are tedious it's those little things that make the big difference. The summer was long, & I was very pregnant & very nasty to be around... but we lived through it & my efforts were worth it, check out my "harvest." This is what life is all about!

I love my life, I love my happy & healthy family!

P.S. I won't be doing any more late night posts, they are a little too strange.

(I just took the sleeping pictures, but chose to avoid the risk of waking up the "crazies")
