So long good friend . . .

JEFF'S SPECIAL GUEST POST

Well, just when things begin looking up and going well, somehow we ALWAYS manage to be humbled. This time is no different.

On Thursday, I got into a rear-end collision and didn't fare well. I'd left work about 5:00 p.m. The rain had picked up, and the roads were more slick. I pulled through the intersection at 63rd & Portland, only to have the Dodge Truck in front of me come to an abrupt stop. I slammed the brakes, and prepared for impact.

Unfortunately, there was too much on-coming traffic and the roads were too wet to prevent any damage. The truck had a tow hitch and that went straight for the radiator. The airbags popped, and I was proclaiming a couple of expletives.

The lady was nice and fortunately didn't have any damage to her vehicle. As fate and/or karma would have it, a nice and heavy torrential summer storm soaked me and my vehicle as we waited for the police. As one more "slap," I was cited for "Too fast for the conditions." That certainly wasn't the case, but the cop did tell me that he wanted to give me a break.

In the end, everyone was fine. I wasn't injured, and we've already worked out a different vehicle situation. Hopefully we can keep the rain away, to prevent other accidents.

Oh my! Sorry about your car Megs! I love the Father's Day poem! Did you know Lindsey is due about the same time as you with her first baby? They had a hard time getting pregnant. Your girl is a doll! She looks like you! I'm proud of your hubby! That is so awesome and you guys look like you're doing well. I'm glad you were not seriously hurt.
