Doesn't that phrase seem like an oxymoron? I have a dear friend who has been going through rounds of that terrible Invitro Fertilization process & when she asked if her numbers were looking good she was told to be cautiously optimistic. What?!?! I thought that was a terrible phrase & didn't understand how one could go about being cautiously optimistic, until now....
Jeff called after the first round of torture, I mean testing. I asked how it was going & he sounded just that, cautiously optimistic or cautiously upbeat. He said it was going okay, there were a couple questions he wasn't feeling solid about. I was so relieved to hear the optimism in his voice.
