Monday the 22nd

I somehow forgot to publish this, it's been sitting in my drafts... OOPS!

I like to think that Hannah is a smart girl, and especially with certain things, but her colors are not her strong point. I'm not so sure if she doesn't know them or chooses not to show me that she knows them. But Jeff & I were talking about how we need (well me more than him) needs to work with her on colors. So I decided to do a color of the week, choosing a new color each week. Last week was Blue. I chose blue, because that is the color she says the most. I got a piece of blue paper & wrote BLUE on it, and I hung it on the wall. After telling her the plan & the weeks color we went on a blue hunt searching for blue items. She did all she could to try to change the subject. She grabbed her wand & told me she was a princess & to follow her. Needless to say, the blue hunt didn't last long. For lunch I gave her a blue napkin & blueberries. I just made it a really blue day. Not once would she say the word blue. When we went to pick Jeff up from school I proceeded to tell him about the blue day & all the ways she tried to avoid having to play or find anything blue. So we get home, Jeff went over to the blue paper & said:
"Hey, Hannah, what color is this!"
She replied with an enthusiastic "BLUE!!!"
That little stinker!!!

Tonight we went to dinner with some friends to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate Jeff's birthday. It was great food & even better company. With all the chatting at dinner, we didn't get home until after Hannah's bed time, so we didn't have a sit down family home evening lessen, the dinner counts, right??

Dinner with friends is more of a family home evening than we have. You said your evening prayers right? That counts.

That's like when I ask Charlotte for a kiss all day long with nothing, and then Trent comes home and she lays one on him out of nowhere. Hey!
